Week 5 Wrap Up

Soooooo…. This week was quite the handful. There was so much stuff to do this week, I almost couldn’t keep up!

But let me run you through it.

I got to listen to “Moon Graffiti“, which was super interesting and insightful! I wrote an entire audio reflection about my experience and the way that I realized that sound really does drive stories. Check it out!

After that, I took my happy little self to Audacity and managed to pump out one of the best radio bumpers I could have ever imagined. Sure, it’s a little different than your average radio bumper, but still amazing nonetheless. I even got my little sister in on it! Here, I’ll even post the soundcloud link so you can just directly listen to it from this post.

I also got a chance to listen to DS106 radio, which I found rather enjoyable. I wrote quite a lot about my experience with listening to DS106 radio, which you can check out here.

As for Audio Assignments, I took my sweet time picking these.

I started with a wonderful poetry reading about my favorite poem, “Amy Likes Spiders”. I won’t spoil it for you, but it’s interesting for sure. And not in the “oh my, this was so deep!” type interesting. Check it out! Also, here’s the direct SoundCloud link so you won’t have to go through the trouble of opening a new tab.

I also did a Sound Effects story! This was one of the more hard ones, since I had to manually pick and choose some audios out on top of thinking of a proper story. This was very personal to me, since it’s about an experience I will never be able to forget (no matter how much I want to).

On top of that, I also made a Good Morning Message For The Village that will surely wake everyone up! I’m also rather proud of this assignment, since I got a chance to show off my remixing skills (to a certain extent). It’s definitely a lot more different than your average “Good morning sunshine!” type messages. 🙂

As for my Daily Creates, I had quite the fun time getting through those! Here, I’ll show you my favorite one from Wednesday.

But yeah, I had to photoshop crazy glasses onto my face, remix a DS106 trading card, and even listen to the calming sounds of a forest. Fun right?

Another thing I did was brainstorm ideas for the radio show, for which I had a decent amount of. I thought of a lot of storytelling ideas, which some of you may or may not like. Who knows? Everyone is different.

Anyways, I had a great time completing assignments this week, despite how stressful and difficult it was at first. I’ll be sure to get these things done earlier ahead of time. It was really fun experimenting with audio and discovering all these new things about the way that sound works. I also really liked looking through other people’s posts and seeing their different reactions and experiences with these week, it seems that they also had as much difficulty and fun as I did. I hope we can keep experimenting with audio in the future, I mean, this was great! I really want to expand my skills with this sort of technology, as I’m sure many others do. I never thought I’d get the chance to do this kind of stuff.

’till next week.
